I've seen this business from all angles, and experienced both successful periods and lean times. As an actor, I've worked opposite and learned from some of the very best in the business. I'm not famous. I'm not a millionaire. I'm a regular, working, union actor. I can relate to everything you've gone through, are going through, and will go through in your journey as an artist because I've been there, too. As a teacher, I can help you because I’ve been where you now stand. It’s why I started The Approach™ and its offerings and also co-founded Beyond Acting™, which helped thousands of actors from 2019-2023. The goal was and is to save actors the time, stress, and money that is often wasted when figuring out all the pieces of the puzzle required for a successful and sustainable long-term acting career.

He’s good, but with a reckless streak.
He’s by-the-book, but knows when to break the rules.
What does it all mean?
It means keeping intense focus 24/7 is fucking exhausting.
It means I’m the Lieutenant who covers the Captain’s ass…again.
It means my shoulders are broad because the weight of the world turns out to be pretty heavy.

Alex Collins is a 21+ year member of SAG-AFTRA, with experience in both the LA and Atlanta markets as an actor, content creator, producer of both union films and live theatre, acting teacher, audition coach, and industry consultant. Most recently, he starred on season 2 of The CW's Stargirl as Dr. MidNite.
While motivating and positive, Collins also brings a no-nonsense sense of honesty to his teaching style, focusing more on the practical realities of working in today's industry.
