BOOTCAMP-Class
How is the class format going to work? Great question. In the first week of each session, I will be introducing students to the concepts of the Bootcamp, including the Audition Preparation Guide, as well as going over the format for the 8-week class. I’ll also be hosting the last week, in week eight, as we wrap up the session together. For the six weeks of class in weeks two through seven, Katy will be at the helm. You’ll get hands on direction on each of your self-tapes, along with insightful direction and coaching on the scenes in general, including the tips and tricks on how to create an amazing audition, along with how to avoid some of the traps and pitfalls that exist in auditions.
How do I know you’re in great hands? Because not only is Katy a great actor, teacher and coach, but has also taped thousands of auditions for hundreds of actors at Get Taped, one of Atlanta’s original taping services. In addition, Katy has been a student of mine for many years, knows how I operate as a teacher, includes all of my value AND adds her own insight and flair. Plus, Katy was a member of the initial 2023 Mastermind Group community. So, she’s practicing what we preach, and she’s IN the trenches with you as actors, day in and day out.
Who is going to be guiding you along this journey, building you up, and developing your skills as an actor? This class is going to be co-taught with me and with Katy Wilson. You already know me and here’s a little more about Katy.
A working actor and audition coach based in Atlanta, GA, Katy has a passion for helping actors bring authenticity, clarity, and confidence to their self tape work. She can be seen in recurring roles on Will Trent (ABC) and Miss Governor (Netflix), and opposite McKenna Grace in the 2025 SXSW Grand Jury Award-winning feature Slanted. Her other recent credits include Heels (STARZ), A Rose for Her Grave (Lifetime), Florida Man (Netflix), A Christmas Open House (Warner Bros/Discovery+), and a national commercial campaign with Aubrey Plaza. This fall, she stars in Lifetime’s Murder on the Homestead, directed by Haylie Duff. Katy’s IMDB.
As a coach, Katy draws on both her classical training and current on set experience. She studied at the Accademia dell’Arte in Tuscany and holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance/Opera from Furman University (magna cum laude). She currently works as an audition taper at Get Taped and previously taught on-camera technique and audition prep at Arvold Warner Studio.
When not coaching or working on set, she’s usually drinking tea and pretending she’s in a Jane Austen novel.
ABOUT ALEX COLLINS
As an actor, I've worked opposite and learned from some of the very best in the business, including an Oscar winner, a three time Oscar nominee, a two time Oscar nominee, and have been directed by a five time Oscar winner. In addition, I've worked opposite winners of five Golden Globes, five SAG Awards, four Emmys, and a Tony.
As a professional actor and member of SAG-AFTRA for over two decades, an elected member of the Atlanta SAG-AFTRA board, and a chair for a local committee ('22-'24), I've seen this business from all angles, and experienced both successful periods and lean times.
My work has allowed me to perform on HBO, CBS, FOX, the CW, Apple+, AMC, Netflix, BET+, National Geographic, WGN, USA, OWN, Sony, Warner Bros, and Universal. Most notably, I have been given the honor of bringing to life a comic book legend first in print 80 years ago and now on Stargirl on the CW.

ACTOR FINANCES
One of the most important elements in life for everyone, but especially actors, is financial stability and security. Yet, in our industry, it's one of the LEAST TALKED about topics. Why? That made no sense to me, so I decided to create a course to talk about it.
